We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to help create ideas for new products or services and drawing up plans for a new design within our Rail Division. The role is hybrid with some travel to Warwick or client sites.
What you’ll do:
Taking ideas from the initial design stage through to the production and or installations process. Drawing up detailed technical plans for ideas and concepts. Using mathematical and scientific skills to create workable, real-world solutions to problems. Selecting the appropriate materials for a new product or a new construction. Calculating an accurate cost analysis forecast for a project. Completing the required technical and regulatory documents May be required to ensure quality-control tests on a new product/system and overseeing its construction/manufacture, development and deployment
Who you are:
You will have previous experience as a Senior Network Engineer with excellent design experience along with solid Cisco and Juniper experience gained ideally within a Rail focussed environment/sector.
Key Requirements:
Lead network designs for DDaT, and take ownership delivering scope of work documentation, schema outline designs, topology diagrams, detailed Infrastructure designs, bill of materials, physical & logical design schematics and node configurations
Be responsible for the accuracy and correctness of designs undertaken by assigned network engineers and assist and train team members where needed
Develop technical specifications, network architecture documentation and other relevant documentation
Undertake network and application configuration
Managing the devices, system and integration testing
Providing support on applications, reports and interfaces
Liaise with vendors where necessary and apply or oversee relevant updates and patches.
Monitor performance and efficiency of the network and instigate modifications and improvements where necessary
Provide advice to end users on how to operate the network
Selecting the appropriate materials for a new product or a new construction
Test new product releases and upgrades
Create and maintain the system documentation
