Senior Network Engineer (ID#5550)

New Value Solutions (NVS) is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer. This is a hands-on infrastructure position focused on Microsoft Azure networking, Cisco enterprise networking, Azure ExpressRoute, hybrid connectivity, routing, and disaster recovery.

The Senior Network Engineer will support connectivity between Microsoft Azure and on-premises data centre environments, helping design, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize network routing between cloud and disaster recovery infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Support the design, configuration, and troubleshooting of network connectivity between Microsoft Azure and on-premises data centres.
• Configure, support, and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute connectivity.
• Configure and manage routing between Azure and disaster recovery environments.
• Support traffic routing and network path selection between Azure and the client’s Calgary DR site.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize BGP routing.
• Work with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and related enterprise networking technologies.
• Configure and support Azure virtual networks, subnets, network gateways, route tables, and related networking components.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, network performance, and traffic-flow issues.
• Support network redundancy, high availability, failover, and disaster recovery requirements.
• Review existing network architecture and recommend appropriate routing and connectivity changes.
• Support implementation, testing, cutover, and validation of network changes.
• Work with cloud, infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure reliable connectivity between environments.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, configuration documentation, implementation plans, and technical documentation.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering, cloud networking, or a related infrastructure role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure networking.
• Experience configuring, supporting, or troubleshooting Azure ExpressRoute.
• Strong experience working with Cisco enterprise networking technologies.
• Strong understanding of BGP and enterprise routing.
• Experience supporting hybrid connectivity between Microsoft Azure and on-premises or data centre environments.
• Experience with Azure VNets, subnets, network gateways, route tables, and routing configuration.
• Experience with disaster recovery, network redundancy, and failover environments.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and networking teams.
