Senior Network Engineer – Low latency trading

Overview

In this role you will lead the design, deployment, and reliability of a global, low-latency network for a premier high-frequency trading firm. You will work alongside software and infrastructure teams to automate and monitor cutting-edge infrastructure and proprietary hardware. The position offers exposure to the fastest trading networks and opportunities to shape the networking stack at scale. You will be central to reducing latency, improving visibility, and ensuring robust operations across global data centers. Responsibilities
  • Lead design, configuration, and maintenance of global low-latency infrastructure with emphasis on proprietary hardware
  • Identify and implement improvements to configurations, technologies, and procedures to boost performance
  • Provide hands-on operational support for high-performance wireless and wired networks
  • Utilize monitoring/analysis tools to quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues
  • Document network processes, systems, and configurations for clarity
  • Design and deploy new monitoring/telemetry systems for greater visibility
  • Participate in network change and code reviews to continuously improve the environment
  • Collaborate with software and infrastructure teams to enhance internal tooling
  • Use automation to streamline repetitive tasks and daily network processes
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of experience with large-scale or low-latency networks
  • Experience managing large-scale networks, infrastructure, or software projects
  • Ability to produce network design and architecture documents
  • In-depth knowledge of Internet, WAN, LAN, and data centre architectures
  • Routing & Switching expertise with BGP, OSPF, or EIGRP; familiarity with multicast (IGMP, PIM)
  • CCIE
  • Linux proficiency across boot, services, files, processes, networks, and kernel
  • Ability to deploy/operate monitoring frameworks (Cacti, Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, Tick stack)
  • Strong firewall experience (Checkpoint, Fortigate, Palo Alto, etc.)
  • Scripting in Python/Go or similar
  • Willingness to participate in rotating on-call schedule, including weekends
