Senior Network Security Administrator

Join Tangerine, a Scotiabank subsidiary, as a Senior Network Security Administrator. Reporting to the Manager, Network Security & Systems, you will support on-premises and cloud-hybrid environments as part of the Network and Delivery Services Team.

The role is currently in the office two days per week, with plans to extend to four days. Work locations include Scotiabank’s Scarborough office and Tangerine’s North York office. You will work one of two daily shifts (8 a.m.–4 p.m. or 10 a.m.–6 p.m.) and provide rotational 24/7 on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, administer, monitor, update, and maintain network and endpoint security solutions across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Review technical specifications, configurations, logs, and scripts to assess security compliance and identify vulnerabilities in systems and connections.
• Investigate security events using operational logs and event consoles; determine causes and recommend countermeasures.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support a highly available, 24/7/365 production environment.

Qualifications

• At least five years of hands-on experience administering enterprise security infrastructure and next-generation firewalls.
• At least three years of experience with intrusion prevention systems, web proxies, TLS, endpoint protection platforms, and endpoint detection and response solutions.
• At least two years of experience or knowledge securing SaaS applications.
• Knowledge of Windows Server, macOS, Linux, network layers, routing, switching, and protocols including TCP/IP, SMTP, HTTP, SSL, SFTP, FTP, SSH, Telnet, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
• Understanding of security policies, access control, log management, and network monitoring.
• Post-secondary education in computer science, engineering, or a related technology field. Financial services experience is an asset.
