Senior Nuclear Safety Software Engineer

Lead safety-critical software engineering for AtkinsRéalis, applying computer systems expertise across CANDU nuclear projects and multidisciplinary teams.

This senior position provides technical guidance, supervises engineering work, and develops requirements for digital equipment systems. You will contribute to software design, coding, verification, testing, documentation, cyber security processes, and computerized safety, control, and monitoring systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide computer systems engineering staff and technical employees
• Prepare requirements and preliminary digital equipment system designs
• Execute software specification, design, coding, verification, and testing
• Develop cyber security processes and vulnerability controls
• Manage schedules, budgets, priorities, and project reporting

Requirements:

• Honours degree in computer or electrical engineering
• Eligibility for Professional Engineer registration in Ontario
• Preferred twelve to fifteen years in computer controls
• Familiarity with documented software industry or international standards
• Excellent technical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
