Overview

As Principal Quality Engineer, you will lead quality initiatives within the Customer Support & Service Solutions team to ensure products meet safety, cost, and quality targets. You will act as the main point of contact for quality with customers and stakeholders, advising on QA and QC activities and driving continuous improvement. You’ll work across programmes to monitor KPIs, support risk reduction, and enable on-time delivery. This hybrid role offers regional travel and collaboration in a fast-paced, high-precision environment with a strong emphasis on shaping quality culture.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for quality-related matters with customers and stakeholders, ensuring requirements are understood and exceeded
  • Provide guidance on Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities
  • Help deliver products that meet safety, cost, and quality standards on time
  • Collaborate with Assurance Teams to support Programme and IPT objectives
  • Monitor quality KPIs (Quality Notifications, Cost of Poor Quality) and participate in MRB/FRB processes as needed
  • Lead or support improvement activities across Programme, Product, and Project lifecycle
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team
  • Support project assurance milestones and prepare reports/data for Programme and Project teams
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce non-conformance costs
Key requirements
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 and continuous improvement practices
  • Experience with Quality Tools: RCA, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification, First Article Inspection
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to translate data into practical solutions
  • Experience engaging with Customers and Suppliers with professional responsiveness
  • Background in a high-precision manufacturing environment or similarly detail-oriented settings
  • Preferred further education or experience in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Defence Electronics or related complex industries
