Architect global payment platforms at Citi using Java, Spring Boot, and resilient microservices in a hybrid working model.

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer, you will modernize Core Payment Systems within Citi’s Treasury and Trade Solutions business. You will set engineering direction for high-throughput platforms spanning 160 countries and more than 140 currencies. The work covers architecture, production ownership, resilience, and scalable integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead software development from architecture through production ownership
  • Build high-throughput microservices with Java and Spring Boot
  • Design multi-region failover and zero-downtime release strategies
  • Define RESTful and event-based API standards
  • Mentor engineers and strengthen technical quality

Requirements:

  • Six-plus years of software engineering experience
  • Three-plus years setting technical direction for teams
  • Expert Java and Spring Boot proficiency
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, or RabbitMQ
  • Knowledge of resilience patterns, databases, CI/CD, and testing
