Senior Payroll Accounting Analyst

Lead payroll accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for York Region in a temporary full-time position based in Newmarket, Ontario.

This Senior Corporate Accountant supports Payroll Services with financial statements, audits, internal controls, and financial metrics. The position provides recommendations on accounting, policy, and legislative developments while working with stakeholders across a large, multi-divisional organization. Hybrid work opportunities may apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop financial reports and provide consultative management support
• Produce financial activity dashboards and key performance indicators
• Evaluate internal controls and monitor related procedures
• Lead verification and reconciliation of accounting transactions
• Plan and liaise with external auditors on requirements

Requirements:

• University degree in accounting, commerce, finance, or related discipline
• Chartered Professional Accountant designation
• Minimum five years of relevant finance or accounting experience
• Knowledge of auditing, accounting, consolidations, finance, and budgeting principles
• Experience with financial applications, large-scale ERP systems, and MS Office
