A well-established organization is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join its People & Culture team. This role will oversee full-cycle Canadian payroll, benefits administration, compliance, employee support, and payroll/HR system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process multiple payroll cycles for salaried, hourly, and contract employees.
  • Manage payroll changes, deductions, bonuses, expenses, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Oversee benefits and retirement programs, including annual renewals.
  • Manage government remittances, year-end reporting, and Records of Employment.
  • Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with Canadian payroll legislation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and system enhancements.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of Canadian full-cycle payroll experience.
  • PCP designation required ; CPM is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Experience with payroll software; ADP is an asset.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and PivotTables.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
