In this role, you will lead the development of a high-end, scalable e-commerce platform in Central London. You will apply PHP and MySQL expertise to shape back-end logic, performance, and data handling while ensuring robust front-end practices with jQuery. You’ll work with Linux-based servers, leveraging caching technologies to optimise responsiveness and scale. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure software that meets business goals. - Develop and maintain a high-end, scalable e-commerce platform
- Implement back-end business logic and integrate with front-end practices
- Optimize database performance and implement caching strategies
- Work on Linux servers and server-side administration as needed
- Apply MVC/ORM patterns to build maintainable codebases
- Collaborate with team to meet tight deadlines
- Contribute to software architecture decisions
- Support and improve deployment processes
- 5+ years of commercial PHP experience
- Strong MySQL knowledge including database optimization
- Linux/LAMP stack experience
- MVC and ORM familiarity
- HTML/CSS/XHTML and jQuery
- Experience with caching technologies (Memcached, Redis, or Varnish)
- Ability to work independently or in a team under tight deadlines
- E-commerce experience is advantageous
- Server administration knowledge is advantageous
