Overview

As a Cloud Platform Engineer within Zopa's Platform Tribe, you design and evolve reliable cloud platform capabilities to empower engineering teams. You will improve AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, monitoring, and operational patterns, partnering with engineers to deliver safe, maintainable solutions. Your work strengthens observability, resilience, security, and incident readiness, while building reusable tooling and self-service foundations. This role offers hands-on ownership from problem definition to delivery in a mission-driven culture that values collaboration and impact. You will help shape standards across Cloud Infrastructure, DBA and DevX in a growing platform ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Design and evolve cloud platform capabilities for engineering teams
  • Improve AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, monitoring and operational patterns
  • Partner with engineers to understand needs and enable safe, maintainable decisions
  • Own work from problem definition through delivery and learning
  • Strengthen observability, resilience, security and incident readiness
  • Build reusable tooling, guardrails and self-service foundations
  • Contribute to platform standards across Cloud Infrastructure, DBA and DevX
  • Support business-critical services through the on-call rota
Key requirements
  • Strong hands-on AWS platform engineering experience in production
  • Practical Kubernetes/EKS, Docker, Terraform and Helm experience
  • Strong CI/CD experience, especially GitHub Actions, with reusable-pipeline thinking
  • Experience with logging, monitoring, networking, scripting, secrets management and service discovery
  • Exposure to AWS and Kubernetes with solid coding experience
  • Evidence of designing secure, reliable and maintainable platform solutions
  • Autonomous delivery and constructive collaboration with application engineers
  • Experience supporting business-critical services through an on-call rota
