Senior Platform Engineer at Leonardo UK leads the design, build and support of secure on-premise and hybrid platforms within the Cyber & Security Solutions division. You own delivery for defined work packages, shaping architectures and ensuring security and performance compliance. You mentor engineers, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive improvements to our enterprise platforms in a defence/government context. This role offers hybrid working and a frontline opportunity to impact national security missions.

- Lead design, build and support of secure on-premise and hybrid platforms
- Own engineering delivery for one or more work packages (planning, estimation, execution, reporting)
- Develop and review system architectures, low-level designs, and technical documentation
- Integrate and test platform components ensuring security and performance compliance
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to Platform Engineers and Technicians
- Collaborate with stakeholders, project teams and customers to ensure solutions meet requirements
- Drive continuous improvement and contribute to internal engineering standards
- Windows and Linux (RHEL) administration and engineering
- Virtualised infrastructure design, build, and support (VMware / Hyper-V)
- Platform hardening, patching, and security compliance (Windows & Linux)
- Enterprise identity and access integration (Active Directory, Group Policy, LDAP)
- Automation and configuration management (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible)
- Networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls)
- Knowledge of cyber security controls and accreditation requirements
- Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle
- Integration of compute, storage, and virtualization into a unified platform
- Delivery within secure/enterprise/defence environments
