Overview

In this role you will define and lead the development and deployment of Siemens NX CAD and PLM systems, while maintaining legacy CAD/PDM environments. You will act as a SME, coach engineers, and deliver training and documentation to raise data quality and user proficiency. Collaborating with IT, vendors, and cross-functional teams, you will shape PLM/CAD processes to support automotive engineering. The opportunity offers hands-on system optimization, governance, and impactful deployment across design and manufacturing workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Siemens NX CAD and PLM systems for mechanical, controller, and manufacturing data
  • Conduct code reviews to raise technical capability of the team
  • Lead engineers as SME for core CAD/PLM tools to ensure data quality and proficiency
  • Deliver user guidance, training (online and in person) to promote best practices
  • Create procedures and work instructions for system use
  • Develop functional and non-functional requirements to improve PLM/CAD processes
  • Lead development, testing, and deployment of new/enhanced tools to meet PLM/CAD needs
  • Maintain legacy CAD and PDM data within SolidWorks environment
  • Support IT with hardware/software upgrades and testing
  • Liaise with 3rd party vendors to resolve issues
  • Research and stay updated on latest PLM/CAD technologies and tools
Key requirements
  • 3+ years of specialised experience with project ownership
  • Foundational understanding of PLM with automotive context and data management
  • Experience with Teamcenter BMIDE and ITK; proficiency in workflow design and attribute mapping; knowledge of Siemens AWC
  • Experience setting up dispatchers and resolving workflow issues
  • Good understanding of CAD systems (NX preferred) and engineering design process
  • Experience delivering user support, guidance documentation, and training
  • Skilled in project planning, system testing, and data migration
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to present to varied audiences
  • Knowledge of system workflows and business processes (CAD release, BOM, change management)
  • Ability to specify system hardware (CAD stations, servers) is advantageous
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, able to distill user needs into requirements and prioritize backlog
