Senior / Principal Engineer

In this role you will lead drainage design across a varied portfolio within a collaborative Transport & Infrastructure team. You will deliver technical outputs, engage with clients and stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers to ensure high-quality delivery. The position offers exposure to regulatory design work (FRAs, S104/S106) and mixed-use developments, with opportunities to shape sustainable infrastructure.

• Deliver drainage and infrastructure designs per project requirements and standards
• Prepare technical reports including drainage strategies and FRAs
• Lead or support project delivery with delegation and supervision of junior staff
• Review and approve internal and third-party designs
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and external bodies
• Support site-based activities as required
• Manage workload to meet deadlines and project objectives

• BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Minimum 3+ years' experience in civil engineering with a focus on drainage design
• Strong experience in residential and commercial development projects
• Proficiency in MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow, AutoCAD
• Experience preparing drainage strategies, FRAs, and S104/S106 agreements
• Good knowledge of drainage design standards, legislation, and construction practices
• Understanding of Health & Safety and CDM Regulations
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage and coordinate design inputs across multiple disciplines
