Overview
In this role you will shape the roadmap and architecture of the PowerVR GPU family, collaborating with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams. You drive architectural feature specifications, evaluate power, performance, area and bandwidth, and translate research into practical implementations. You will influence long‑term technology direction and engage with customers and standards bodies. This is a high‑impact role at the heart of innovation within a leading silicon/IP company.
Responsibilities- Define and deliver architectural feature specifications for next‑gen GPUs
- Analyze and optimize power, performance, area, and bandwidth to meet targets
- Collaborate with research, modelling, product, implementation and performance teams to align on roadmap, targets and feasibility
- Map novel algorithms to efficient hardware implementations and evaluate trade-offs
- Support design, verification, and engineering reviews; justify technical decisions
- Engage with customers and standards bodies (e.g., Khronos) as needed
- Influence long‑term technology roadmap and future GPU generations
- File patents for inventions arising from architecture work
- Experience with GPU architecture or similarly large, complex systems
- Understanding of modern 3D graphics and/or compute APIs (Vulkan, D3D12, OpenCL)
- Understanding of digital ASIC design methodologies and constraints
- Ability to plan, estimate and track own work
- Experience driving architecture exploration activities to tangible feature specifications
- Understanding design and verification challenges to maximize engineering ROI
