Senior Principal Software Architect – AI

Overview
In this role you shape the architecture of Arm’s AI software portfolio and how apps/frameworks connect to AI acceleration hardware. You collaborate across hardware and software, guiding designs and technical decisions with senior engineers and customers. You translate emerging AI models and workloads into scalable software/hardware requirements, spanning frameworks, runtimes, compilers, and accelerators. You will work across ecosystems to align future technologies with Arm platforms, driving impactful AI delivery. This is a high-visibility position at the intersection of AI, software, and computer architecture.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and architecture reviews across teams
- Guide design decisions and ensure alignment on critical choices
- Foster hardware/software co-design and reuse across stacks and markets
- Engage with customers and ecosystem partners to gather requirements and build consensus
- Translate AI workloads and models into future software/hardware requirements
- Collaborate across PyTorch, ExecuTorch, LiteRT, ONNX and related runtimes and kernels
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends for Arm’s AI portfolio
- Extensive experience in software architecture, systems software or hardware/software co-design
- Deep knowledge of computer and system architecture, memory systems, heterogeneous computing and hardware acceleration
- Strong understanding of modern AI models and workloads
- Familiarity with PyTorch, ExecuTorch, LiteRT, ONNX or ONNX Runtime
- Strong C/C++ skills and ability to engage with software implementations
- Excellent technical judgment and ability to navigate ambiguity
- Strong professional network across AI, semiconductor or software ecosystem
