Overview

In this senior technical leadership role, you will guide the Environmental Water Quality Team to deliver sustainable solutions for UK and Ireland water challenges. You will lead multidisciplinary programmes across water, energy and infrastructure sectors, shaping strategies to reduce pollution and improve aquatic environments. You’ll mentor colleagues, manage complex projects, and collaborate with clients and regulators to achieve measurable environmental performance. This role offers scope to influence policy-relevant outcomes and drive environmental change.

Responsibilities
  • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary programmes and ensure successful outcomes
  • Mentor junior team members and collaborate with project managers
  • Identify pollution sources, pathways and receptors and develop solutions for natural and urban catchments
  • Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders to align on objectives
  • Contribute to WINEP studies, marine/inland water quality modelling, storm overflow investigations and catchment risk assessments
  • Support cross-sector work across water, energy and infrastructure to improve environmental performance
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
Key requirements
  • Degree in an appropriate discipline
  • at least ten years of experience across the water industry
  • proven track record delivering challenging, complex projects addressing environmental impacts of wastewater assets
  • familiarity with UK environmental quality legislation
  • confident communicator with clients, regulators and industry colleagues
