Senior Product Owner

As Product Owner, you shape product strategy and backlog for large-scale insurance solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver value. You translate business needs into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with the product vision and architectural runway. You coach other Product Owners and drive prioritization, planning, and releases to support domain goals. This role combines strategic influence with hands-on delivery to enable measurable business outcomes.

• Create and maintain multiple product backlogs aligned with product vision and business outcomes
• Ensure backlogs include user stories, enablers, and defects ready for delivery, and accept stories per defined standards and DoD
• Refine user stories for clarity and alignment with strategy; split stories into executable parts
• Prioritize and sequence backlog items to maximize value and align with roadmap
• Coach Product Owners; foster collaboration between product management, development, design, and stakeholders
• Plan sprints and increments with domain product managers and development teams, defining goals and sequencing work
• Define clear acceptance criteria for each user story
• Collaborate on release planning and manage dependencies and emerging priorities
• Track and analyze product metrics; ensure quality and adherence to DoD and nonfunctional requirements
• Maintain strong governance and communication across teams to deliver on domain strategy

• Proven experience as Product Owner managing multiple products in large-scale insurance/IT projects
• Ability to lead multiple Agile teams (Dev, QA, Design) and partner with business units
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present complex information to diverse audiences
• Experience with agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) and tools (JIRA, Confluence, MIRO)
• Deep understanding of commercial and specialty insurance product lifecycle
• Ability to translate business outcomes into technical user stories for development teams
• Proven ability to build productive cross-organizational relationships
• Self-starter with adaptability and accountability
• Bachelor’s degree; certification preferred (CSPO and/or SAFe POPM)
• 8–10 years of insurance/product owner experience with IT delivery in Agile environments
