Senior Product Test Development Engineer

In this role you will design, build, and validate test equipment for electronic systems, supporting through-life production and obsolescence management. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver scalable, reliable test solutions for safety-critical programmes. The position combines hardware, software, and verification challenges across board to system level, contributing to an R&D‑driven, capability-building environment. A strong impact comes from shaping testing architecture in a regulated setting and mentoring junior engineers.

• Design and develop functional test equipment for electronic systems
• Lead and support hardware/software integration and fault diagnosis
• Provide lifecycle and production support, including issue resolution and obsolescence management
• Work collaboratively across engineering disciplines to deliver scalable test solutions
• Lead design reviews and produce high-quality technical documentation
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

• Strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit design
• Ability to produce detailed technical design documentation
• Experience transferring designs into production environments
• Excellent hardware fault-finding and debugging skills
• Test software development experience
• Experience supporting and debugging system integration
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (minimum BPSS, ideally SC)
