Overview

In this role you will lead and coordinate large, cross-functional technology programs to advance GitLab’s enterprise IT and AI strategy. You’ll partner with IT leadership to translate objectives into structured roadmaps and measurable outcomes, guiding governance and delivery across diverse teams. You’ll operate at the intersection of IT, Finance, Legal, Product, and Business operations to align work, surface risks, and maintain momentum. This role offers visibility, strategic impact, and the chance to shape how we run the business with scalable, AI-enabled solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end program management for large-scale Enterprise Technology & AI initiatives, including scope, roadmaps, resources, and delivery tracking
  • Define and communicate success metrics and regularly report status and risk to ETA leadership
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand problems, outcomes, and trade-offs
  • Drive cross-functional alignment, resolve dependencies, and maintain program momentum
  • Improve governance frameworks, intake processes, and ways of working across the CIO org
  • Translate complex requirements into actionable work plans for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks and interdependencies to prevent delivery blockers
  • Model GitLab values and promote an async, high-trust team culture
Key requirements
  • 6+ years of program management experience with a track record delivering large, cross-functional Enterprise Technology & AI programs
  • Ability to simplify complex processes and create structured approaches to ambiguity
  • Experience influencing without authority and aligning diverse functions (Finance, Legal, Sales, Product)
  • Comfort switching between strategic leadership and hands-on execution
  • Strong written and verbal communication for executive audiences
  • Familiarity with Enterprise IT domains (business systems, data, AI, security, infrastructure, or enterprise architecture)
  • Proficiency with Agile, Scrum, SAFe or similar methodologies; PMP/CSM is a plus
  • Experience in a remote, globally distributed environment with async collaboration and documentation
