Senior Python AI Engineer

Build Python AI services with FastAPI and async APIs at Newfold Digital, working remotely with daily overlap from 09:00 to 13:00 EST. Design scalable systems using modern LLM and retrieval technologies.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build production APIs and agent-powered platform capabilities. Your work includes Semantic Kernel, provider-agnostic OpenAI and Gemini integrations, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation. You will also develop PostgreSQL-backed services and maintain delivery pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and scale asynchronous REST and WebSocket APIs
• Implement multi-agent workflows with Semantic Kernel
• Integrate OpenAI and Gemini through provider-agnostic routing
• Deliver RAG using Azure AI Search, pgvector, or Chroma
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for testing, packaging, and deployment

Requirements:

• Five-plus years building production Python APIs
• Two-plus years using FastAPI or similar async stacks
• Deep knowledge of async I/O, Pydantic v2, DI, and observability
• Hands-on Semantic Kernel or comparable agent framework experience
• Remote readiness with daily EST overlap from 09:00 to 13:00
