Senior Python Developer

In this role you will be a hands-on senior Python expert shaping a new Security Master data platform for a financial services client. You will build and maintain Python ingestion and processing pipelines, handling multi-asset data across equities, fixed income, funds and alternatives. You’ll work closely with the client’s Data Team to ensure data quality and reliable distribution of security data. The opportunity combines data-intensive engineering with modern cloud tools and a chance to deepen domain expertise in financial data. You’ll contribute to scalable, maintainable solutions that deliver high-impact, trusted data across markets.

• Develop a new Security Master data service and data ingestion/processing pipelines
• Ingest, clean, transform and process security reference data, daily pricing data, and corporate actions
• Handle multi-asset data including equities, fixed income, funds, and alternative assets
• Support internal distribution of high-quality security data
• Collaborate with the client’s Data Team and stakeholders
• Build robust, scalable Python solutions
• Work with PostgreSQL and modern Python data tools (Pandas/Polars)
• Contribute to Git/Jira-based workflows
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability throughout the platform

• Extensive commercial experience as a Senior Python Developer/Software Developer
• Expert Python development skills
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Strong experience with Pandas and/or Polars
• Experience building data ingestion, transformation, or processing pipelines
• Comfort with Git and Jira in collaborative environments
• Strong problem-solving abilities with complex datasets
