Build Python and Django services at Vantage, using advanced SQL and external APIs across a remote-first team based in Toronto. As a Senior Engineer, you will build backend features, integrations, and production APIs. You will support product teams through architecture, code quality, database performance, and delivery guidance. The work includes MySQL or Postgres, Docker, CircleCI, cloud platforms, and B2B API integrations. Key Responsibilities:
Design and ship reliable Python and Django backend services Build partner connectors with authentication, rate limiting, and retries Review queries, indexes, and data access patterns Diagnose production issues using logs, metrics, and traces Mentor engineers through pairing and design reviews Requirements:
Six or more years of professional software development experience Advanced SQL expertise beyond ORM usage Strong Python and Django production experience Experience with MySQL, Postgres, Docker, and CircleCI Experience troubleshooting performance and production code Bring senior backend engineering, API integration, and database performance expertise to Vantage’s remote-first Toronto team.
