Overview

As a Senior QA Analyst, you own the testing process for RuneScape: Dragonwilds, a UE5-based open-world survival game. You shape test strategies, drive quality across interconnected systems, and ensure stability, performance, and balance at live scale. You mentor the QA team and lead process improvements to elevate multiplayer and live-service testing. You collaborate with development, design, Live Operations, and localisation to ensure quality ownership throughout development. Responsibilities
  • Own the testing strategy for complex systems to deliver a fair, stable player experience
  • Define and evolve test strategies leveraging Unreal Engine 5, automation, telemetry, and profiling tools
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert across QA and gameplay domains, surfacing risks via telemetry, defect trends, and exploit analysis
  • Mentor and develop QA team members, raising standards for multiplayer and live-service testing
  • Partner across disciplines (development, design, Live Operations, Localisation, Submission) to ensure quality ownership and risk communication throughout development
Key requirements
  • Proven experience managing QA for multiplayer or live-service products with networking, replication, persistence, matchmaking, and server performance testing
  • Strong understanding of open-world and multiplayer testing challenges (streaming, AI interactions, server stability, desynchronisation, save/load)
  • Ability to define and drive risk-based test strategies in a live-service environment with cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience testing compatibility, certification, and performance
  • In-depth knowledge of QA tooling (JIRA, Xray, TestRail) and familiarity with debugging, profiling, or network analysis tools
  • Proven experience mentoring QA team members and improving quality processes
