Overview

As a Reporting Services Team Lead, you guide a multi-site team of developers to deliver accurate, reliable reporting for iSAMS and Ed. You shape reporting standards and drive improvements in SSRS, SQL, and Power BI across the team. You collaborate with Product Management, Engineering and Customer Success to set priorities and ensure high-quality insights for schools and accounting firms. This role blends hands-on reporting with people leadership in a fast-growing software group that values well-being and inclusion.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Reporting Services team, setting clear objectives and fostering growth
  • Manage workloads, priorities and delivery timelines
  • Oversee design and delivery of reports and analytics across iSAMS and Ed
  • Set and maintain technical standards for SSRS, SQL, Power BI and reporting development
  • Provide guidance on SQL/T-SQL, data modelling and troubleshooting
  • Act as escalation point for complex reporting and data issues
  • Collaborate with Product Management and stakeholders to define requirements and priorities
  • Ensure reporting solutions are accurate, consistent and high quality
  • Identify and drive improvements to reporting tools, processes and ways of working
  • Promote knowledge sharing and continuous development within the team
  • Represent Reporting Services in stakeholder meetings and wider initiatives
Key requirements
  • Hands-on SSRS reporting experience
  • Strong SQL/T-SQL skills with complex queries
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Experience leading or mentoring others in reporting/BI or similar technical teams
  • Good understanding of data modelling, reporting and analytics
  • Experience resolving complex reporting or data issues
  • Technical confidence to guide other developers
  • Experience managing workloads and deadlines
  • Experience gathering requirements and delivering effective reporting solutions
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Good organisation and problem-solving skills
