Senior Risk Manager

Senior risk leadership role within Scotland Infrastructure Risk, driving delivery of risk management across complex projects and programmes. You will mentor a growing risk team, influence client strategy, and feed into a national risk community while collaborating with cross-functional disciplines. You’ll shape risk capabilities, promote best practices, and deliver measurable project outcomes. This role combines delivery leadership with opportunity to impact Scotland’s risk management future.

• Lead: manage and delegate activities of the Risk Management team on complex projects or programmes
• Communicate with Senior Management/Stakeholders to deliver updates
• Brief the team on project scope, define roles and responsibilities
• Develop and maintain leadership relationships with interfacing disciplines
• Line management activities including career development and performance management
• Drive continuous improvement in Risk Management processes and embedding changes
• Promote the benefits and requirements of Risk Management within project teams
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise and expert analysis (e.g. QCRA, QSRA) to stakeholders
• Train and coach clients and less experienced team members on Risk Management processes
• Support recruitment to grow project controls capability and contribute to Communities of Practice

• Tangible experience in managing and delivering Risk Management on complex projects/programmes
• Experience interfacing with other project disciplines
• Experience leading Risk Management teams
• Practical experience of ISO31000, APM, Orange Book, IPA; Quantitative Risk Analysis and software (Safran, @risk, PRA); risk tools (ARM, Predict!, Risk Controller, riskHive, Xactium)
• Delivery and transformation project experience desirable
• Familiarity with NEC contracts desirable
• Security Clearance Requirements desirable
