Senior Snowflake Developer – 11889JS

As a Senior Snowflake Developer, you will lead hands-on migration of legacy SQL Server workloads to Snowflake within a regulated financial services context. You’ll build scalable data solutions, optimize performance, and collaborate with data engineers, architects, and stakeholders to support critical banking functions. This role focuses on modernising data platforms, driving governance, and delivering high-quality data pipelines. Your work will directly impact reporting, risk analytics, and data integrity across the enterprise.

• Develop, enhance and optimise Snowflake data solutions as part of a legacy SQL Server migration programme
• Build and maintain data transformation pipelines and models using dbt
• Develop Python scripts and automation solutions to support data migration, processing and operational efficacy
• Analyse and migrate existing SQL Server databases, queries, stored procedures and data transformation logic to Snowflake
• Design, implement and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines with data quality, integrity and reconciliation
• Develop and optimise data warehouse structures, star schemas and dimensional models to support reporting
• Apply best practices for Snowflake performance tuning, query optimisation and cost efficiency
• Implement automated testing, source control and CI/CD processes for controlled deployments
• Ensure data solutions adhere to enterprise data architecture, governance and control standards
• Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into solutions
• Troubleshoot complex data issues and support migration milestones
• Contribute to technical design decisions, lead development activities and mentor junior developers

• Extensive hands-on Snowflake development experience (3+ years)
• Strong dbt experience across modelling, transformation, testing and deployment
• Advanced Python development for data engineering and automation
• Strong SQL Server experience including design, query optimisation and performance tuning
• Significant experience delivering enterprise-scale ETL/ELT solutions
• Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, star schemas and dimensional modelling
• Experience with data governance, data quality and reconciliation in enterprise environments
• Familiarity with Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines and structured release practices
• Proven experience delivering data solutions in Banking or Financial Services
