Overview

In this role you will shape the integration landscape, delivering modern, secure solutions in a hands-on capacity while mentoring peers. You’ll work within the Technology team to modernise APIs and cloud-based workflows, aligning with architectural best practices and cross-functional collaboration. The position focuses on C#/.NET, REST APIs, microservices and event-driven patterns to enable scalable, maintainable services. You’ll partner with architects and engineers to drive impactful, observable outcomes that support the company’s technology journey.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and modernise integrations using C#/.NET, including Azure Logic Apps, Function Apps, containerised microservices and event-driven microservices
  • Build, integrate and manage APIs that connect services and platforms across the technology landscape
  • Design and develop secure, maintainable solutions using established engineering principles and patterns
  • Work with Azure messaging and integration technologies to support event-driven architectures
  • Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD and Git-based development practices
  • Collaborate with Architects and other developers to shape effective technical solutions
  • Create and maintain clear process, service and technical documentation
  • Mentor and support other developers, sharing technical knowledge to grow the team’s Azure Integration Services skills
  • Help ensure solutions are secure, well maintained and compliant with internal governance
Key requirements
  • Strong professional experience with C# and .NET, including ASP.NET Core MVC and Web API development
  • Experience designing and building REST APIs, microservices and event-driven solutions
  • Solid knowledge of software engineering principles (design patterns, SOLID, clean architecture)
  • Experience with Docker and containerisation; automated testing with xUnit or similar
  • Experience with SQL Server and data access technologies
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD and Git-based development
  • Experience designing event-driven solutions using Azure Service Bus, Apache Kafka or equivalent messaging technologies
  • Experience implementing secure APIs using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT and Microsoft Entra ID
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor) while maintaining engineering quality
  • Interest in mentoring other developers and sharing knowledge across the team
