Overview

In this role you will join a highly technical engineering team building high-performance software used in trading and quantitative research. You will influence architecture and engineering standards while delivering scalable C#/.NET applications across greenfield and existing platforms. You’ll work closely with researchers and traders to translate complex requirements into robust software that drives data-driven strategies. This is a hands-on, ownership-driven role with a meaningful impact on performance, reliability and scalability.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build high-performance applications using C# and modern .NET
  • Own complex development projects from design through production
  • Influence architecture, technical design and engineering direction
  • Develop scalable systems supporting automated trading and quantitative research
  • Collaborate with researchers and traders to convert complex requirements into robust software
  • Design and optimise relational database solutions (SQL Server, Oracle or similar)
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across apps and databases
  • Develop reliable, maintainable, and highly scalable software
  • Work with multi-threading, concurrency, and asynchronous programming
  • Investigate technical challenges and deliver long-term solutions
  • Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, CI and tooling
  • Mentor other developers and raise engineering standards
Key requirements
  • 5+ years' commercial software development experience
  • Strong C# and modern .NET development experience
  • Excellent knowledge of OOP, software design principles and architecture
  • Experience designing and building production-grade, scalable applications
  • Strong SQL experience (SQL Server, Oracle or similar)
  • Experience creating systems where performance, reliability and scalability matter
  • Strong understanding of full SDLC
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or another relevant technical discipline
