Senior Software Engineer

We're working with an established technology consultancy delivering complex software solutions for a range of enterprise clients. The business has a strong focus on engineering quality and works on technically challenging projects where reliability, scalability and good software development practices are essential.

This Senior Full Stack Engineer role is backend-led but genuinely full stack. You'll build and operate business-critical services using Kotlin or modern Java, contribute to frontend interfaces in React and TypeScript, and work as a hands-on member of an experienced engineering team.

It's a strong opportunity for an engineer operating at senior level who wants to work on technically challenging projects while continuing to develop their engineering and architectural skills.

What you'll be doing:

• Building and maintaining JVM-based services using Kotlin or modern Java, developing APIs and integrations to a high standard
• Delivering end-to-end features, connecting backend services with React and Java
• Contributing to technical discovery, architecture discussions, peer code reviews and API design standards
• Experimenting with AI-assisted engineering tools where they add clear value, validating outputs for correctness and security
• Working closely with engineers and other stakeholders to deliver robust technical solutions

What we're looking for:

• Strong commercial experience with Kotlin or modern Java, ideally Java 17+
• Experience building and operating APIs with a good grasp of service reliability, security and performance
• Frontend experience with React.js
• Familiarity with CI/CD, relational databases and modern agile development
• Curiosity about AI-augmented engineering and a willingness to develop new ways of working
