Overview
You will be a senior software engineer at Thales, delivering embedded C++ software for land, sea, and air systems. You will lead software design, shape architectures, and collaborate across engineering teams to meet safety and performance requirements. The role focuses on hands-on development, testing, and agile delivery within a mission-driven environment. You will help advance image processing, AI, and data analytics on diverse hardware, contributing to high-assurance systems.

- Technical leadership and ownership of software design
- Develop software primarily in C++ per interface control and UML-based architectures
- Document design decisions and contribute to solution-level architecture
- Collaborate with other engineering functions on requirements and trade studies
- Contribute to testing activities and maintain test coverage
- Participate in an Agile team and Agile ceremonies
- Support peer reviews and prepare materials for major gate reviews
- Coach and provide technical support to junior engineers
- C++ development in real-time embedded environments (bare metal/RTOS/OS)
- Experience with test frameworks (GoogleTest, GoogleMock)
- Experience with static analysis tools (Klocwork, Coverity) and test coverage tools (Bullseye)
- Some exposure to test automation/CI
- Understanding of UML artefacts (desirable)
- Experience with requirements management (DOORS) (desirable)
- Familiarity with safety standards IEC 61508 or DO-178C (desirable)
- Security Clearance (SC) ideally or willingness to obtain
- Collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams
- Proactive agile participation and communication
- Mentoring and coaching junior engineers
- C++ in real-time embedded systems
