Senior Software engineer | 1 day in office | up to £110,000

Trakd have partnered with a fast-growing fintech infrastructure play, backed by one of the UK's most successful privately held investment and technology groups, expanding into Europe

We're building the infrastructure behind the next generation of investing. Our technology already powers some of the UK's most ambitious fintechs, banks, financial advisers and wealth firms, with close to a million investors relying on our platform and we're now expanding into Europe. We're backed by one of the UK's most successful privately held investment and technology groups, giving us long-term stability with the pace of a high-growth business. We're B Corp certified and believe profit and purpose go hand in hand.

Engineering is organised into four tribes, each owning a distinct product domain, made up of small autonomous squads (Engineering Manager, Product Manager, 3–5 engineers). We operate a build-and-run model — teams own the full lifecycle from architecture through to incident management. Stack: AWS serverless (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, API Gateway, S3, ECS/Fargate), TypeScript/Node.js, MongoDB, some C#. Terraform + Serverless Framework for infra, GitHub Actions for CI/CD.

The Role

You'll design, build and operate reliable, scalable, testable software TypeScript and Node.js supporting resilient financial workflow systems and regulated investment operations. As a senior engineer, you own your services end-to-end, mentor others, and are a go-to technical voice within your squad.

What You Need

  • AWS and serverless experience
  • Document databases, ideally MongoDB
  • Experience owning services in a build-and-run model, including structured on-call/incident management
  • Experience mentoring engineers
  • Experience in regulated industries, ideally financial services or fintech
  • Comfort with distributed systems, tracing and observability
  • Bonus: multi-region, multi-currency, or trading-system complexity

Not a fit if:

you need heavy top-down direction, prefer a slower pace, or don't like ambiguity

This is a high-ownership, fast-moving environment.

Salary up to £110,000 + 6% pension, life assurance, private medical, 27 days holiday + birthday off, enhanced parental leave, £750 learning budget, £500 home office setup, MacBook, six weeks/year working abroad, mental health support, and a strong perks/discounts package.

Process

30-min intro call → 2h45 virtual technical loop (system design, bar-raiser, TypeScript code review). Prep materials provided. Typically 1–2 weeks turnaround
