In this role you will design and implement embedded software for Siemens’ power system protection devices, contributing to reliable and robust firmware. You will work within a multidisciplinary team on product features, verification, and documentation to meet strict performance and reliability requirements. The position sits in a global R&D context, collaborating with colleagues across borders to advance critical infrastructure. You will shape the software that powers smart protection devices, with a clear impact on mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop embedded software in C/C++
  • Implement new product features and enhancements
  • Investigate and resolve software defects and customer-reported issues
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests
  • Participate in code reviews and drive software quality improvements
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, test, and product management throughout the lifecycle
  • Follow development processes, coding standards, and quality procedures
  • Provide production and post-production support
Key requirements
  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in embedded software development using C/C++
  • Understanding of microcontrollers and embedded systems architecture
  • Knowledge of software design principles and version control systems
  • Experience developing Linux OS in embedded environments with kernel and bootloader customization (U-Boot)
