Senior Software Engineer

In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will design and deliver software for manufacturing, quality, engineering and R&D within a global laser technology business. You’ll build desktop and device apps using C# and modern .NET, automate workflows, and create reliable interfaces with hardware. You’ll shape software architecture, mentor peers, and contribute to cross-functional projects that improve efficiency and product quality. This is a hands-on, impact-driven role in a stable, engineering-focused environment.

• Lead software system architecture design and document for wider team
• Develop desktop and device applications using C#
• Identify automation opportunities to improve workflows
• Work with web tech (ASP.NET, Blazor)
• Build UIs with WPF and Windows Forms
• Develop hardware communication interfaces (RS232, Ethernet)
• Create SQL database interactions
• Apply unit and integration testing
• Produce technical and user documentation
• Coach team members on coding standards and practices

• Degree in Computer Science, Physics or similar discipline
• Strong experience in C# and .NET 6 or later
• Experience with ASP.NET or Blazor is an advantage
• Experience with C for embedded platforms is an advantage
• Python experience for data analysis is useful
• VBA or VB6 skills are useful
• Qt GUI experience is useful
• Ability to create UML documentation
