Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build bespoke software that directly supports Williams Racing’s engineering and operations. You’ll work across aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, and real-time data analysis to deliver actionable tools for race-critical decisions. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and specialist users while modernising our stack with cloud-native approaches. Your work will shape how software empowers performance on track and in the factory, offering a meaningful impact in a high-pressure, high-performance environment. This role combines technical breadth with mentorship to raise overall software quality and delivery speed.
Responsibilities- Understand user needs across Williams Racing and translate them into technical specifications
- Develop, implement, and maintain software solutions with the Software Development team
- Enhance existing systems for reliability, performance, and adaptability
- Collaborate with other technology groups to develop shared data platform services
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers, promoting best practices
- Contribute to software design, patterns, and architectures
- Streamline development processes to improve delivery to customers
- Provide application support during race weekends when required
- Degree in Computer Science or related field involving software development
- Strong experience in one or more of: C#, Go, Java, C++, Python, or TypeScript
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Git
- Collaborative and curious problem-solver with good communication skills
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements
