In this role you will design and evolve high-performance, event-driven microservices that power FanDuel’s marketing ecosystem. You’ll work within a modern architecture to deliver real-time customer communications, personalized promotions, and targeted campaigns at scale. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven, personalized experiences for millions of users, while shaping the future of Martech with AI-enabled solutions. This position emphasizes ownership, pragmatic delivery, and mentoring others as you drive architectural direction and system simplification.

Responsibilities
  • Build and optimize scalable microservices and event-driven data pipelines
  • Lead projects with a strategic view of the vertical and architectural direction
  • Write secure, maintainable, and well-documented code with strong testing practices
  • Collaborate in design reviews, planning, and prioritization to improve software and processes
  • Coach and mentor teammates, fostering technical skills and best practices
  • Tackle root causes of complex problems and ensure reliable, on-time delivery
  • Participate in on-call rotations and maintain operational health of systems
  • Document software to aid future developers with intent and context
Key requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong backend experience with Java
  • Experience with AWS and DevOps concepts (Terraform)
  • Experience with event streaming technologies (SNS/SQS or Kafka)
  • Good grasp of relational and non-relational databases, messaging queues, and concurrency handling
  • Experience with high-volume systems and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS)
  • Familiarity with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Expertise in testing concepts, tools, and SDLC integration
  • Strong ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Experience in Agile environments and ability to adapt in fast-paced settings
