Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer you will design and build software within Raytheon UK’s software development function, contributing to secure, mission-critical systems across defence and cyber domains. You will work in a cross-functional team to deliver software using established best practices, driving milestones and continuous improvement. The role combines hands-on development with collaboration across stakeholders, suppliers, and peers to shape technical direction. A core part of the role is operating in DevSecOps at scale and contributing to AI/ML and geospatial intelligence initiatives that underpin national security. Key requirements
  • Willingness to attain eDV security clearance
  • Experience with core software engineering including JavaScript frameworks (React, NextJS), TypeScript, Python, Java
  • REST API development and OpenAPI/Swagger
  • Cloud services (AWS or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Relational databases (PostgreSQL) and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
  • Unit testing and automation (Mocha, Jest, Cypress)
  • Experience in Agile delivery and using GitLab with PRs and branching strategies
