Senior Software Engineer

In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will drive technical execution across multiple squads, shaping scalable, well-tested web applications. You’ll lead project planning, manage dependencies, and mentor teammates, while collaborating with PMs and Experience teams to improve production readiness. You’ll influence design decisions and the roadmap, contributing to Deliveroo’s growth and its impact on the marketplace. • Lead project planning and architecture improvements within and across teams
• Review and improve code quality and system design
• Increase production health, observability, and maintainability of services
• Collaborate with other engineering teams and stakeholders to identify opportunities
• Break down large work, guide design decisions, and influence the team roadmap
• Participate in hiring and interview processes; mentor and grow colleagues

• Experience building web-based applications in any language; willingness to learn new languages (Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, Rust)
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Familiarity with scalable web architecture (20krpm+)
• Experience with NoSQL backends and caches (Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Memcache)
