Overview

In this role you will join the Workflows Engineering team to shape and implement the technical strategy for a set of FX engineering products. You will translate business requirements into robust software solutions and guide delivery through experienced coding and architectural input. You will work with cross-functional partners to lead projects and deliver value, including adopting AI-first approaches where appropriate. Responsibilities
  • Provide design, development, and implementation guidance as a subject matter expert
  • Deliver high-quality solutions through expert coding and tooling
  • Own your workload while contributing to an inclusive team culture
  • Act as a domain expert with awareness of cross-domain dependencies
  • Align work with technology and domain strategy and contribute where relevant
  • Build understanding of the market and LSEG’s commercial position
  • Lead projects with minimal direction and delegate as needed
  • Collaborate with architects to design and implement solutions
  • Lead design and Epic planning with Product and QA
  • Apply engineering patterns to deliver robust solutions
  • Build stakeholder relationships across teams and external partners
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Continuously develop technical and industry expertise (e.g., certifications)
Key requirements
  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (C++ preferred)
  • Experience in 3+ of: REST/WebSocket, Kafka, SQL (Oracle/SQL Server), Redis, Azure PaaS (Event Hub, Azure SQL, Kubernetes, Azure Cache), Terraform/Helm, GitLab CI (or AWS equivalents)
  • Exposure to Business/Technical Analysis, QA, Delivery Management, or Emerging Tech & Governance
  • Strong software development and delivery experience
  • Basic understanding of trading systems and financial markets
  • Familiarity with financial messaging protocols (preferably FIX)
  • Collaborative mindset and inclusive team player
