Senior Software Engineer

In this role you will join the Digital Finance Lab to design and deliver innovative payment solutions for customers and the business, within Lloyds Banking Group. You will work in a cross-functional feature team, applying agile methods to drive value and help shape payment capabilities for the PSP. You’ll engage with industry groups and regulators, contributing to industry forums and strategic direction. This is a hands-on, problem-solving role with impact across payments, data, and digital assets in a large, customer-focused organisation.

• Develop and deliver innovative payment solutions as part of a feature team
• Work with agile delivery under the Platform Change Framework
• Collaborate with industry groups and regulators to influence strategy
• Engage in Industry Forums and cross-organisation initiatives
• Contribute to building scalable, compliant payment capabilities for the PSP
• Support customers and business with value-driven digital finance initiatives

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Go, Rust
• Experience with CI/CD
• Experience in an agile development team
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes; ideally Helm, Istio, Consul, Vault
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL
• Interest in blockchain and Web 3.0 technologies
• Nice-to-have: React, GraphQL, NodeJS, Express, Fastify, Spring Boot, Quarkus; Solidity, DAML; OCP, GCP; Ethereum, Canton, Solana
• Experience with distributed teams
