Senior Software Engineer

In this Senior Software Engineer role at Tes, you will design, build, and deliver scalable software that supports educators and schools worldwide. You will join a collaborative Technology team and help modernise our product ecosystem, contributing to reliable, secure solutions used by millions of students and teachers. You will lead by example, mentor colleagues, and own end-to-end delivery from development to production. • Deliver high-quality, scalable software using modern front-end and back-end frameworks
• Lead by example in applying engineering best practices
• Participate in agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement
• Lead code reviews and guide complex changes
• Own deployment and release processes across environments
• Collaborate with QA to define/testing strategies
• Monitor and improve observability and reliability
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge
• Ensure secure coding practices and address security issues
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Proficiency in at least two of JavaScript, Java, PHP, C#, or other .NET languages
• Strong understanding of design patterns and hexagonal architecture
• Hands-on experience building and consuming REST APIs and using API documentation tools
• Solid knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts
• Proven experience mentoring or guiding other engineers
