Senior Software Engineer

In this role you will design, develop, and maintain desktop apps and backend services using WPF, C#, and .NET Core to support our metrology solutions. You will work within a cross-functional global team, contribute to modernisation of legacy code, and document technical designs and APIs. You will actively explore new technologies and AI tools to boost quality and productivity, while mentoring peers and upholding SOLID and MVVM principles. This is a hands-on, impact‑driven position at a global leader in precision engineering.

• Design, develop, and maintain desktop applications (WPF) and backend services using C#, .NET Core, following MVVM and established design patterns
• Write clean, testable code following SOLID principles and best practices
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and mentor junior developers
• Work with legacy code and contribute to modernization efforts
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including API docs, design notes, samples, and user manuals
• Identify, propose, and adopt emerging technologies to improve product quality and engineering processes
• Collaborate with engineering and non-engineering teams across India and other AMETEK locations
• Demonstrate ability to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and reduce costs; identify AI use cases and critically evaluate AI outputs

• Strong knowledge of C#, .NET Core/.NET Framework, and MVVM
• Proficiency in XAML, UI controls, data binding, templating, and WPF animations
• Experience with multi-threading, async/await, and performance tuning
• Strong experience with unit testing frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, MSTest) for desktop apps
• Hands-on experience with serial communication, networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP)
• Experience using Git and building CI/CD pipelines via TeamCity, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
