As a Senior Software Engineer at FanDuel, you will build and evolve core account-related services across FanDuel products with a focus on scalable backend systems. You’ll collaborate in empowered, cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software for millions of players. You’ll champion pragmatic solutions, design thoughtful architectures, and mentor others in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Responsibilities
  • Owner of product areas within the account domain of FanDuel products
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and code reviews to improve software quality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in planning, on-call support, and incident response
  • Balance customer requirements with team constraints and drive operational excellence
  • Mentor and educate other engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Estimate work, deliver on commitments, and keep up to date with industry trends and open-source frameworks
Key requirements
  • Distributed, highly scalable backend systems and APIs
  • Programming in Java or Python (or similar)
  • Cloud experience, preferably AWS
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and databases (relational and non-relational)
  • DevOps concepts including containers (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • Strong ownership, urgency, and drive; growth mindset and adaptability
  • Testing concepts and integration of testing in SDLC
  • Experience with release processes for APIs/services
  • On-call experience and ability to handle production issues
