Senior Software Engineer - Java - £150k + Trading Bonus

We are working with a Major Financial Services company that is looking for a Senior Software Engineer skilled in Java to join their Trading team. This is an opportunity to work on highly scalable, business-critical technology at the intersection of software engineering, financial markets and the energy transition.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building distributed, event-driven, high-throughput trading systems
  • Developing core Java applications in Linux environments
  • Working with messaging, networking and real-time data
  • Designing cloud-native infrastructure and production-ready services
  • Collaborating closely with traders, quantitative developers and architects

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years' software engineering experience
  • Strong Java and concurrent/multi-threaded programming skills
  • Experience with distributed or event-driven systems
  • Exposure to high-throughput, low-latency or data-intensive environments
  • Messaging, networking and/or market data experience
  • AWS or cloud infrastructure experience is beneficial
  • Trading, financial markets or energy market experience is highly desirable
