A rapidly scaling, well-funded software company operating in the Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) space, helping enterprises secure their cloud infrastructure through real-time data insights. Now embedded within both AWS and Azure as a core security solution, they're building out a Belfast engineering hub as part of a major growth phase.

Role Overview

As a Backend Software Engineer, you'll own the full development lifecycle - from design through deployment and monitoring - on a platform tackling genuinely complex, real-world cloud security problems. You'll work in a low-ego, engineering-led culture where decisions are trusted to the people closest to the work.

Key Responsibilities

• Make architectural decisions shaping high-scale security systems
• Improve performance, scalability and reliability of backend systems
• Lead design and code reviews to maintain engineering standards
• Collaborate closely with Frontend, DevOps and Security teams

What You'll Need

• 4+ years' backend development (any high-performing language)
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
• Exposure to data-intensive systems (databases, messaging, event-driven architectures)
• Comfortable in a microservices environment with modern CI/CD
• Kubernetes, Docker, Elasticsearch, Redis, RabbitMQ or TimescaleDB
• Understanding of cloud security principles
