We support hybrid working, and you’ll spend 60% of your time each month in the office.

You’re a highly capable software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and building high-quality software that operates at scale.

You combine strong hands‑on engineering with sound technical judgement, a collaborative mindset and a genuine sense of ownership. The opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building and operating the technology that supports millions of customer journeys every year.

Working as a senior individual contributor within a product-focused engineering squad, you'll spend most of your time hands‑on, developing software, solving complex technical challenges and improving the reliability, scalability and performance of our systems.

You'll help guide technical decisions, contribute to architecture discussions and collaborate closely with engineers, product managers and stakeholders to deliver solutions that create value for customers and the business.

Our Engineering teams are responsible for developing and supporting the technology that powers one of Europe's most recognised airlines.

What you’ll be doing

You'll design, build, test, deploy and support production software, taking ownership of significant technical challenges and delivering high-quality outcomes.

You'll contribute to technical design and architectural discussions, balancing speed, simplicity, maintainability and long-term sustainability when making engineering decisions.

You'll continuously improve systems through better testing, observability, performance optimisation and operational practices, helping ensure our platforms remain reliable and scalable.

You'll also:

• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
• Support engineering excellence through code reviews and technical collaboration.
• Investigate incidents and troubleshoot production issues.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, release processes and development practices.
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to turn requirements into practical solutions.
• Contribute technical expertise during planning, discovery and solution design.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools thoughtfully to improve development effectiveness and delivery quality.

What we’re looking for

You'll bring significant experience building, delivering and operating production software within modern engineering environments.

You'll be a strong problem solver with excellent technical judgement and the ability to work confidently across complex systems.

We're particularly interested in candidates with:

• Strong commercial experience using .NET.
• Strong commercial experience using Java.
• Hands‑on experience designing, building and operating solutions on AWS.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications, APIs and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, version control and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting production systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• A passion for continuously improving engineering quality, standards and ways of working.
• It would be beneficial if you also have experience of:
• Technical architecture and solution design.
• Developer tooling, build pipelines and engineering enablement.
• Operationally complex or regulated industries.
• Airline, travel, logistics or transportation environments.
