Senior Software Engineer

Looking for an engineering role where you can do more than just pick up tickets and write code?

As a Senior Software Engineer at Zuto, you’ll have genuine ownership, from understanding the problem and making technical decisions through to deployment, monitoring and improving what you’ve built in production.

We’re transforming our architecture, building scalable, event‑driven services and embracing AI-assisted development to help our engineers move faster, experiment and solve bigger problems.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and building scalable, event‑driven services .
• Owning solutions from initial design through to production and monitoring.
• Using AI‑assisted development tools to work faster, experiment and solve problems.
• Working across the stack, including areas that may traditionally sit within DevOps or infrastructure.
• Testing ideas and building proofs of concept before adding unnecessary complexity.
• Building software that is secure, observable and built to last .
• Challenging existing technical patterns and helping shape better ways of working.
• Working with Engineering, Product and wider teams to solve complex business problems.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced engineer who combines strong technical skills with ownership, curiosity and good judgement.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Strong senior‑level software engineering experience.
• Experience owning complex problems from design through to production.
• A strong understanding of scalable architecture, testing and modern engineering principles.
• Confidence making technical decisions and understanding the trade‑offs behind them.
• Experience with, or a willingness to embrace, AI‑assisted software development.
• The ability to know when to build for scale, and when keeping things simple is the better solution.
• A collaborative mindset and the confidence to challenge existing approaches.

Nice to Have

Experience with .NET, AWS, Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation, event‑driven architecture, queues, streams or domain‑driven design would be a bonus.

Our core backend is .NET, but we’re flexible on your technical background. How you solve problems, make decisions and learn matters just as much as the technologies you've previously used.
