Senior Software Engineer, AD Serving

As a Senior Software Engineer on Roku’s Advertising Platform, you will design and build real-time, scalable systems that power the company’s growing ad business. You’ll work with a cross-functional engineering team to ship high-quality features and promote platform reuse and best practices. You’ll communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and influence the architecture and delivery timeline. This role offers impact at scale, shaping how ads are served while protecting user privacy.

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale, real-time applications
• Own feature delivery and collaborate with product and other engineering teams
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences

• 10+ years of experience building large-scale, low-latency distributed systems
• Proficiency in Java or C++
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization, OOP, multithreading, and real-time programming
• Experience with distributed caching, SQL/NoSQL, and databases is a plus
• Experience with Big Data and cloud services such as AWS/GCP is a plus
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
• Self-motivated with accountability and ownership; strong analytical and decision-making skills
