Overview

In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will contribute to Raytheon’s ATMS software team, delivering real-time embedded solutions for a global customer base. You will design, develop, integrate and test systems software within an agile environment, and participate in internal R&D to advance next-generation ATMS. You’ll act as a technical lead at design reviews, investigate and resolve defects, and contribute to design artefacts and validation. The role offers a mix of on-site and hybrid work with a focus on impactful, mission-critical software.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop product functionality, interfaces and performance improvements
  • Lead and review at gate and design reviews
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert to analyze and resolve software and system defects
  • Validate design artefacts from internal teams or subcontractors
  • Contribute to configuration, safety and quality management
  • Document design and advise on product support material
  • Investigate issues and develop customer-focused solutions
  • Develop test plans/methodologies to ensure quality
  • Lead continuous technical improvement and re-architecture activities
  • Interface with COTS vendors for technical support
  • Provide full software lifecycle support to Raytheon programmes delivering new capability
Key requirements
  • Active hands-on software development experience in a team environment
  • Experience with C/C++/C#
  • Experience with UML in software design
  • Real-Time Embedded software programming experience
  • RTOS knowledge
  • Knowledge of low-level communication protocols: Ethernet, Serial, PCI Bridge
  • Hands-on fault investigation in embedded code
  • Experience with software configuration management, requirements, design and defect reporting
