Senior Software Engineer, Backend

In this role you contribute to Rippling’s core payroll platform, owning end-to-end product functionality and system architecture to support hundreds of thousands of employees. You will collaborate with design and product to shape the team’s vision, deliver scalable solutions, and mentor peers. You’ll help raise engineering quality through tooling and processes, and participate in on-call support. This is a high-impact, autonomous role at a fast-growing company dedicated to simplifying the employee lifecycle.

• Shape and drive team vision, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with design and product
• Implement scalable, high-quality solutions that support business growth
• Mentor other engineers and foster professional growth
• Raise engineering standards by building tooling, monitors, and processes
• Participate in on-call rotation for customer and production support

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Ability to own and deliver end-to-end projects from specs to release
• Strong computer science fundamentals and modern design patterns
• Experience managing complete project lifecycle and launching complex features
• Strong product sense focused on exceptional customer experiences
• Excellent written and verbal communication across cross-functional teams
• Experience with Python, Django and React is a plus
